TMNT: Saturday Morning Adventures #36!

I wrote this issue in April of 2024; just about two years ago to the day. It was meant to be an inventory issue in case catastrophe happened and the book fell behind schedule... but Sarah and Dan and Luis don't do behind schedule. We were almost a year ahead of publication at that point.

So... we slotted this book in as soon as we had a free spot. And folks, let me tell you, it is (in my opinion) one of the funniest and purely fun books that Dan and Luis and I have ever done--from Ghostbusters to Godzilla to now.

We mixed in elements of some wonderful things from 1987...

Archie x Army of Darkness #3 is here!

 

Okay, so Archie of Darkness #3 was ACTUALLY out a few days ago, but I've been a busy bee! 

(To the left, feast your eyes on what might wind up being my favorite cover of the entire series -- and there are some STRONG contenders -- the retro cover by Bill Galvan, featuring Sabrina, the Teenaged Witch!)

This issue had a couple of my favorite jokes -- including a subtle nod to the book that really kicked the doors open for Archie and horror; Afterlife with Archie. I'm so glad I was allowed to use it!

Archie x Army of Darkness #2 -- it's out NOW!

The second part of the zaniest crossover I've written to date hits TODAY!

Ash finally links back up with Archie and the gang, currently trapped in a lake house besieged by Deadites who... for some reason aren't trying to break into the house.

No one likes a mystery like that...

And if you have the chance and you're a collector, look into the Robert Hack cover series I didn't even know about, which will place a different member of the gang in Ash's shoes for an Army of Darkness poster homage! Issue #1 was Archie. Issue #2? Well take a look below!

Out as of February 18, the wrap up to the five issue miniseries is out! Written by me, art by Ben Bates (and Sarah Myer on the backup) color by Ben and Luis Antonio Delgado!

 February 4 has come, and on this new comic book day, a book I've been excited to see hit the shelves for months.

Archie x Army of Darkness #1 has arrived, kids!

With art by Bill and Ben Galvan, colors by Ellie Wright, letters by Carlos Mangual, and a murderer's row of artists on covers (including the poster homage cover from Robert Hack), this has been a dream to work on.

 As I do every year, I track the movies I've watched. I don't log what I didn't finish and I don't keep multiple watches in the shared list (so a few rewatches were struck!)

It was a good movie year, started and ended with some good 'uns. Let's go with the list after the break...

A Quick Holiday Message

Heya to any folks that find this page! 

I know that I rarely update the blog attached to my website, but I wanted to do so now with a message for the holidays.

It's tough out there for many people, and for many reasons. But things will get bright again, and light will return... in both a literal and a figurative sense.

Care for those you care for, help when you can, how you can, even if it's just saying the right thing to the right person at the right time.

Hold a little peace and hope for the world.

But mostly, buy my books!

(Kidding. I was worried you wouldn't think it was a proper holiday message without a little crass consumerism.)

I wish you the best circumstances: love, life, health, and peace in 2026 and beyond.

Twin Cities Con This Weekend!

 Hey, folks! It's me, and it's time!

 Hey folks! Sarah Myer and I will be signing TMNT: Saturday Morning Adventures (and, no doubt, anything else either of us have worked on) at the IDW booth, #4551, Thursday, October 9, from 1:30-2:30.

I can't speak for Sarah, but that's the ONLY time you're guaranteed to find me during the con... though if you need something signed and aren't at the show Thursday, maybe I'll whip up something impromptu--hit me up on my socials (Bluesky and Instagram) if there's any interest in that.

 As we start into the home stretch of 2024, I would just like to wish any of the folks who read my work and have found their way to this page the happiest of holidays as we march into 2025.

This year has seen me working on three distinct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles projects for IDW Publishing, as well as a Gremlins cookbook for Insight Editions, alongside recipe rock star Jenn Fujikawa.

I attended a few conventions (Twin Cities Con, Granite State Comic Con, and San Diego Comic Con) after kicking off the year with a signing at Most Wanted Comics in Bloomington, MN last January.

...I do hope to do a few more signings in 2025, and we'll see about cons.

I'm working on a few projects now I'm excited for... but that won't see the light of day until next fall, at the soonest, and I have a few pitches out for new comics I hope will be well received.

That and... I'm still rocking away on TMNT: Saturday Morning Adventures with Dan Schoening, Sarah Myer, and Luis Antonio Delgado.

I hope the future treats us all well, knock wood.
